Welcome to the latest incarnation of my blog – sadly, gremlins killed its last life, and it took me a while to ferret them out and put things back to rights.
So, where have I been?
It’s been a really busy year work-wise, with several projects at various stages of completion – but we haven’t really been out and about that much. We went to London in May for a weekend, which was fun – we were attending the launch for Leviathan – a DVD about Hellraiser and its sequels, and also took the chance to catch up with family and friends. Then, in June, I was in Derby for Edge Lit’s Double the Horror event – a panel and readings with Rufus Hound, Andrew Hook, editor Johnny Mains, Robert Shearman and Mark Morris. It was very well attended, and everyone seemed to enjoy the evening – and then Paul and I went for dinner with Mark, Rob, Johnny and Andrew, among others.
July saw us back in Derby, this time to attend the annual Edge Lit event – again, it went really well and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing so many friends. July also saw us guesting at Sheffield HorrorCon – actually just outside Sheffield, in Rotherham, at the Magna Centre. A fun day was had by all, and hopefully this event will run again next year.
Now we’re in to August, and the year’s flying by – next month I’ll be in York as a guest at the BFS/BSFA Pub meet (full details on site) and then in October there’s FantasyCon in Nottingham, and in November there’s Sledge Lit (see what they did there?) in Derby to look forward to. In between all those, though, I shall be here, at my desk, writing. There are some interesting things coming up on that front, and more news when I can, but if I told you now I’d have to kill you.
